Last chapter, Yoshi and M. Para Koopa traveled through the galaxy to test the power-ups scattered across that helped Mario in his first adventure through space. Now, they head over to the 6 Galactic Worlds where Mario's second space adventure took place in, to test the other half of the power-ups!
"This place looks amazing!" M. Para Koopa said, as they arrived at the Fluffy Bluff Galaxy.
"Indeed! It's like a paradise in the sky!" Yoshi commented.
The place had water in various places, and there were many trees, platforms, and clouds sitting among the place.
"Hey look at that!" Yoshi said and pointed at the Cloud Flower, that was floating above a platform.
"This is Cloud Flower. You make clouds and use like platforms." a nearby Whittle said.
"Hmm... Interesting!" M. Para Koopa said.
"You spin. You make cloud. You make 3 clouds." the Whittle explained.
"Ok!" Yoshi said.
"I want to see in action!" M. Para Koopa commented.
"Will do!" Yoshi said, and touched the Cloud Flower.
In seconds, his boots and saddle were white, and he had a cloud shaped hat. He had 3 clouds behind him.
"Wow you look awesome!" M. Para Koopa said.
"I know!" Yoshi said, and spun, making a cloud appear below his feet.
"Ooh! Nice, and soft, like a cloud!" Yoshi said, and made another cloud.
"I want to try too!" M. Para Koopa said, and touched the Cloud Flower, undergoing a similar transformation like Yoshi's.
"Neat!" Yoshi said, as he watched M. Para Koopa make some clouds.
"Indeed!" M. Para Koopa said.
"Now, I'm going to relax meanwhile!" Yoshi said, relaxed.
"Ok!" M. Para Koopa looked around, and saw that the cloud beneath the one Yoshi was started to shrink.
"Uhh... Yoshi... Your cloud dissapeared..."
"What?" Yoshi asked and saw as the cloud he was standing in puffed out of existence.
"Oh oh." He said as he fell straight down.
"Wow! Yoshi!" M. Para Koopa said, and just then, his cloud dissapeared. "WOAH!"
Both Yoshi and M. Para Koopa crashed in the water nearby, making them lose their power-ups.
"Aww man, I lost the power up!" Yoshi said sadly.
"Huh, so this suffers the Super Mario Galaxy Power Syndrome too?!" M. Para Koopa asked himself.
"What's that?" Yoshi asked.
"You see, the Super Mario Galaxy Power Syndrome is when a Power-up unnecessarily lasts for a short period of time!!!" M. Para Koopa explained.
"Oh." Yoshi said.
"No. Power-up last forever. Unless get attacked or touch water." The Whittle said.
"Awesome!" M. Para Koopa commented.
"So that means we can keep making clouds!" Yoshi said and grabbed the Cloud Flower.
"You make 3 clouds. You restock touching Cloud Flower again." Whittle added.
"Ok! Let's go, Yoshi!" M. Para Koopa said, and touched the Cloud Flower, and both dashed off to the rest of the galaxy to test the Cloud Flower.
Now, the duo arrived at Spin-Dig Galaxy, where the next, Power-up, per say, was located.
"I find it very interesting that this galaxy's encased in a giant planet!" M. Para Koopa said.
"Indeed!" Yoshi agreed, and looked around the place.
"So, where do you think the next Power-up lies?" M. Para Koopa asked.
"Dunno, but must be near here though." Yoshi said, and climbed on of the hills in the starting planet where they were, looking for the powerup. All he saw were coins, a cage with an extra life, a giant hill with a Luma, and a Red and gray Drill, standing in the middle of the place.
"Did you find anything?" M. Para Koopa asked.
"Not much! I see a drill though..." Yoshi said.
"That may be the powerup!" M. Para Koopa said, and picked up the drill, above his head.
"... So..." Yoshi stood there, waiting for something to happen.
When he looked back at M. Para Koopa, he wasn't there. Only a bunch of rubble and dirt.
"Huh?! Where did he go?!" Yoshi looked around, and saw M. Para Koopa in the red cage with the 1-up.
"Hey!! Look at me! I entered the cage!" M. Para Koopa said happily as he picked the 1-up.
"Oh! How?" Yoshi asked, but then, M. Para Koopa was nowhere to be seen again.
"How is he doing that?!" He said, confused.
"Hello bro!" M. Para Koopa said, standing behind Yoshi.
"AHH!!!" Yoshi jumped and rolled down the cliff.
"Hahaha! Got you!" M. Para Koopa said laughing.
"Oh... Heh! Did you use the drill?" Yoshi asked.
"Yeah! That's what I'm using to move around! See you at the top!" M. Para Koopa said, and started spinning, making him drill underneath.
"Huh..." Yoshi said, and picked up another drill, above his head.
Yoshi walked around, and spinned to test the powerup.
"Wow! This is how it woooorks!!" Yoshi said as he started drilling underground.
Soon after, he appeared on the highest hill.
"I feel dizzy... Wowie..." He said, his eyes spinning.
He shook his head, and saw M. Para Koopa and a yellow Luma.
"Oh, hi Yoshi!" M. Para Koopa greeted him.
"Oh, hi guys!" Yoshi said.
"We're going to move to the next planet!" M. Para Koopa said as the Luma transformed into a Launch Star.
"Ok!" Yoshi and M. Para Koopa mounted the launch star, and their drills fell off.
"Aww, my drill! :(" M. Para Koopa said.
"You can't travel along with that! There's more around the galaxy, don't worry!" Luma said, and the friends got sent to the next planet.
"Ok, here we are!" Yoshi said as he arrived.
"Yup! Hey, I see the drill!" M. Para Koopa said and ran over to the drill.
"Ok! I see a Luma up there!" Yoshi pointed at a Luma atop a high dirt pillar.
"We're gonna have to do some drilling magic!" M. Para Koopa said, and started drilling.
"Wait for me!" Yoshi said as he picked a drill too.
Later, they were at a Starshroom.
"So, yeah, there's this scary robot thing on that planet! Think you could reach it?" Blue Toad told Yoshi and M. Para Koopa.
"Yeah! Let's go, M!" Yoshi said, and took the star sling below the ship, M. Para Koopa following behind.
They arrived at the planet, which had a small, broken robot on it.
"That thing looks like Megaleg..." Yoshi said.
"Yup..." M. Para Koopa said, and suddenly, the robot activated.
It slowly reformed, standing up, and his eyes flashed bright red, indicating it powered on. Digga-Leg saw Yoshi and M. Para Koopa, and started moving.
"Yoshi... That thing's alive!" M. Para Koopa said scared.
"Yeah! Wow!" Yoshi exclaimed as a Digga rose from the ground. Digga-Leg sent them towards Yoshi.
"Huh... What do we do.. Oh yeah!!" M. Para Koopa said as he saw a drill, and picked it up.
Amidst all the chaos, Digga-Leg stopped sending Diggas, and let out smoke as he flipped his head, revealing the star, encased in glass.
"Hey! M. Para Koopa! Hit that glass with the drill!" Yoshi said, defending from the Diggas.
"Alright!" M. Para Koopa said, and drilled towards the glass case, and successfully hit it, cracking it a little.
Digga-Leg realized and shook around, and jumped away from the planet, releasing star bits in his wake.
"Wow! That was awesome!" Yoshi said, but didn't realize as Digga-Leg sprung back down, and hit him with one of his legs, sending him far from the planet.
"Yoshi!"
"Ahh!!! I can't reach the planet's gravity! Help!" Yoshi yelled as he inevitably dashed off through space.
"Agh!!" M. Para Koopa yelled, and a Digga hit him, making him lose the drill.
"If he reaches a black hole, he's done for! You'll pay for this, robot thing!!" M. Para Koopa said, and left the planet's gravity, in an attempt to find Yoshi.
After flying for a while he found Yoshi, knocked out, almost exiting the big planet the galaxy's in.
"Yoshi!" M. Para Koopa said, and grabbed him, just when he was going to go out of the planet. Out there were planets and black holes all over.
"I got you bud. Now, let's kick some robot glass!" He said, and dashed back to Digga-Leg.
"Augh... What happened?" Yoshi said, waking up.
"That robot pushed you out of orbit, and something must have knocked you out in the way!" M. Para Koopa explained.
"Really?! Oh... Thanks for the save, I owe you one." Yoshi said.
"No worries. Now, let's get the 'bot!" M. Para Koopa said, and arrived at the planet.
"Let's maximize work!" Yoshi said, and both him and M. Para Koopa grabbed a Spin Drill.
"Yeah! Hey, he's got his guard down! GO!" M. Para Koopa yelled, and he and Yoshi drilled down towards the glass in Digga-Leg, successfully hitting it, and breaking it completely.
The robot beeped uncontrollably, it's eyes flashed all colors, and exploded in 3 pieces, it's head exploding last.
"Oh yeah! We did it!" Yoshi said, and high-fived M. Para Koopa.
"Yup! And look, another star!" M. Para Koopa said, as the star arrived.
They grabbed the star and left the area.
More time later, they arrived at the Boulder Bowl Galaxy, where the third powerup resides.
"Boulder Bowl Galaxy sure looks busy!" Yoshi said.
"Yeah... I don't see anything here that's, 'busy'." M. Para Koopa said, as he looked around. What he could see were some Octoguys, a Rock Mushroom encased in the middle of the planet, and a giant glass/Stone pillar.
"Let's head to the pillar!" He said and he and Yoshi approached a pair of Toads. One was hitting the pillar with a Pickaxe and the other was sleeping.
"Hi Toad!" Yoshi said to the working Toad.
"Hi! Man... This glass... It's going to take forever to break! Heck, it isn't even scratched! Why did the Captain think this was a good idea?!" The Toad ranted along.
"Maybe we can help him out." M. Para Koopa said.
"Yeah! Let's get those pink things first!" Yoshi said, pointing to the Octoguys.
They headed over them, and easily stomped them. Shortly after, the case that held the Rock Mushroom captive dissapeared.
"Wow, look at this mushroom!" M. Para Koopa said.
"Yeah, it has a rocky head!" Yoshi added.
"New power-up inbound!" M. Para Koopa said gladly.
"Gotta try!" Yoshi said and touched the Mushroom.
In seconds, his saddle had a rock-like appearance, and the white parts in his body became stone too, and his boots were gray.
"As always! Looking awesome!" M. Para Koopa complimented Yoshi.
"Heh, thanks! I do look awesome!" Yoshi said.
"I need to try it!" M. Para Koopa said. "What does it do, though?"
"Dunno. Let me see..." Yoshi said, and moved around, nothing happening.
"Try and do a spin!" M. Para Koopa suggested.
"Ok!" Yoshi said, and spinned. In moments, many rocks surrounded him and he became a boulder, with his head sticking out.
"WOO HOO!!! THIS IS FUN!!" Yoshi said as he rolled around at fast speeds.
"Sure looks like it! I need to do it myself!" M. Para Koopa said, and touched the Rock Mushroom. He underwent the same transformation as Yoshi. Rock shell and boots, and his wings looked petrificated, but they could move just fine.
"This shell looks so strong! I could even resist an asteroid! It isn't that good on the comfortable side though..." M. Para Koopa said, admiring his new look.
He looked around and saw Yoshi crash into a small stone pillar, breaking it completely, releasing some coins.
"Whaddya know?! This is the finest weapon to defeat buildings!" Yoshi said.
"Indeed. Hey, let's crash into that mineral like material there, to see what happens!" M. Para Koopa said, and Yoshi nodded.
In unison, they turned to the giant pillar, and crashed it, breaking it.
"WOW!" The Toad looked amazed as the material was gone in the blink of an eye.
"Awesome!" Yoshi said.
"Thanks for the help there! You destroyed that without moving a muscle!" The Toad said.
"Quite literally! Ha ha!" M. Para Koopa said and laughed.
"Let's move on!" Yoshi said, and along with M. Para Koopa, they made their way to the next planet.
"Huh, this planet seems more populated..." M. Para Koopa said, looking around.
"Yeah... But you do know what we need to do, right?" Yoshi asked.
"You bet!" M. Para Koopa said, and he started to roll around, Yoshi following.
"I doubt I'll get tired of doing this!" Yoshi said as he passed over some Octorocks, and M. Para Koopa crashed into the boulders. After a few seconds, they had everything cleared, and the Launch Star unblocked.
"Nice! There's more rock to roll!" Yoshi said.
"Yup! Let's go!" M. Para Koopa said, and both headed for the Launch Star, and flew off to the next planet.
A while later, they arrived at a red, metallic planet.
"Huh, this is quite a planet, isn't it?" M. Para Koopa said.
"Yup, a contrast towards everything else..." Yoshi said, and then, a rolling sound could be heard.
"What's that?" M. Para Koopa asked as all of a sudden, Rollodillo came rolling towards them, and clumsily came to a stop, but with an angry expression.
"Looks like he's not fond of visitors!" Yoshi said and moved aside as Rollodillo ran towards him, and turned into his shell, running around the planet.
"Yup... He's asking for a beating!" M. Para Koopa added.
"Then, let's rock and roll!" Yoshi said, and kept close watch of Rollodillo
Just then, Rollodillo stopped rolling and fell down, dizzy and vulnerable to attack.
"Now!!" M. Para Koopa yelled, and both him and Yoshi rolled in their rock forms towards Rollodillo's back, hitting him.
Rollodillo soared the air shortly, before falling on his back, but quickly turned back up.
"Well, at least he'll put up a fight!" Yoshi commented, as Rollodillo gave an angry battle cry, and rolled faster towards Yoshi and M.
Both successfully dodged the attacks, but when Rollodillo stopped rolling and tripped, he wasn't open for attacks.
"Ow!! My powerup!" M. Para Koopa said as he lost momentum and crashed against Rollodillo's shell, because of his fast reaction, losing the rock power.
"Huh! He seems to be taking notes!" Yoshi said as he dodged another hit and protected M. Para Koopa from one.
"I'll go find another Rock Mushroom!" M. Para Koopa said and went off around the planet.
"Alright!" Yoshi agreed as he saw Rollodillo finally trip, and attacked him on the spot.
Rollodillo again went up and fell on his back. He quickly turned back up, and roared angrily at Yoshi as smoke puffed out his nose, and started rolling even faster.
"Wow! It's gonna take more with me alone!" Yoshi said.
"Not to worry! Friends are here to help!" M. Para Koopa said, in his rock power attire.
"Yeah!" Yoshi said, and both watched Rollodillo trip, but quickly start rolling, and he did so again.
"You know what they say, third time's the charm!" M. Para Koopa said.
Just then, Rollodillo stopped, and this time he was open for attack.
"Let's finish him, now!" Yoshi yelled, and both him and M. Rolled rapidly towards Rollodillo, hitting him hard and sending him off course, for him to fall back, and explode in a puff of smoke.
A star released from the planet.
"Ahh, another star!" M. Para Koopa said.
"Yup! I suggest you keep this one yourself. You may need it sometime." Yoshi said.
"Yeah. You're right." M. Para Koopa nodded, and grabbed the star.
"Is there any power up left to try?" Yoshi asked.
".... The Yoshi fruits?" M. Para Koopa asked.
"I think we already tried them... Oh boy..." Yoshi said, as a flashback ran down to his mind.
M. Para Koopa and Yoshi were hanging out at Starshine Beach Galaxy, in search of the next Power up.
"So, what do you expect to find?" Yoshi asked.
"Dunno... Oh Hey, over there!" M. Para Koopa said as he pointed to 2 seemingly normal items. A chili pepper and a blue berry.
"What do these do?"
"Ah, I... Don't quite remember." Yoshi responded.
"Why don't you try one to see?" M. Para Koopa asked.
"Alright." Yoshi said took a bite off the berry, turning into Blimp Yoshi.
"...." M. Para Koopa just looked dumbfounded.
"Yup, now I remember. Man this is annoying." Yoshi said to himself.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! A BALLOON?! COME ON!! OH MY!" M. Para Koopa yelled, bursting in laughter.
Yoshi fell down to the ground angry.
"Oh yeah? Take a bite of this!!" Yoshi said and threw the chili pepper at M. Para Koopa's mouth.
"Instantly, M. Stopped laughing, and turned red completely, and ran all over the place like a mad man.
"AHHHH, IT BURNS!!! AHHHH!!" M. Para Koopa yelled as he ran on top of the water.
"Heh, it's a nice powerup in the long run!" Yoshi said.
Flashback end
"Ehh, you know, let's just return home." Yoshi said.
"Yeah, you bet." M. Para Koopa said, and both headed off the planet.
